Distribution and Habitat

Cephalozia bicuspidata is a regularly occurring native species in Canada. It is also found in Virginia (USA), specifically in Botett, Dickenson, Washington, and Giles counties. This liverwort is commonly found in sunny locations on decorticated rotting wood, rock, or bare mineral soil. It's a Boreo-temperate Circumpolar element. It also occurs in bos en heide op het Pleistoceen (forest and heath on the Pleistocene).
