Calymperes erosum, commonly known as Calymperes Moss, is a species of moss belonging to the genus Calymperes.

Calymperes is a predominantly tropical moss family.
Calymperes erosum is found in the USA and Canada. A distributional map exists.
The pantropical moss genus Calymperes also occurs in Melville Island, Northern Territory, and northeastern Queensland from Cape York.
Calymperes palisotii is frequent in peninsular Florida.
It was found on the bark of Coprosma chathamica and exposed roots in the Chatham Islands.

Plants are small, pale, and compact, growing in low turfs.
Stems are short and forked, with brown rhizoids.
Leaves spread widely from sheathing bases when moist and are rather stiff.
Leaves are distinctly dimorphic.
Normal leaves are lingualate, approximately 2.5 mm long, with broadly rounded obtuse tips.

Studies suggest the moss is adapted to low nutrient conditions.
The moss is capable of removing cadmium and accumulating aerial heavy metals from solutions, specifically referring to Calymperes delessertii.
The atmospheric deposition of some heavy metals was investigated using Calymperes erosum.
