Distribution and Habitat:
- Discovered in three localities in southern Norway: Aust-Agder, Hedmark (Ringsaker) and Rogaland (Rennesy).
- Found on coastal earth banks, for example on the Isle of Hoy, Scotland.
- Reported in Yunnan, China.
- Found in Vstergtland, Sweden.
- Also found in the Aegean (Chios).

Morphological Characteristics:
- Thallus squamulose.
- Squamules are small, typically up to 3 mm in diameter, but rarely up to 4 mm.
- Squamules are (150 -) 200-300 (- 350) ?m thick.
- Squamules are dispersed to contiguous or partly imbricate (overlapping).
- Squamules are often divided.
Interactions with Other Organisms:
- Found in locations where Schismatomma virgineum is also present.
