This subspecies is a British native found in various locations, including North Wales (e.g., Bryn Euryn, Colwyn Bay), Derbyshire, England (e.g., Shirley, VC57), and Skåne, Sweden. While Carex divulsa subsp. divulsa is common in Southern Ireland, Carex divulsa subsp. leersii is absent from that area.
