Distribution and Habitat

In North America, Riccia albida is known from Texas and possibly Louisiana, as well as Mexico. It is also found in Antarctica/subantarctic regions and Australia. It appears in saline shrubland sub-communities.

Ecology

Riccia albida is a rare liverwort and is poorly known. The presence of carbonate crystals on the thallus of Riccia albida may have a protective effect.
