Taxonomy and Nomenclature

  • Synonyms: Lepicolea fryei, Lophochaete fryei (Perss.) R.M. Schust.

The genus name Pseudolepicolea is derived from "pseudo-" + Lepicolea.

Distribution and Habitat

  • Pseudolepicolea fryei is found in the USA and Canada.
  • It is widespread in suitable habitats throughout the Brooks Range of Arctic Alaska and its northern slopes.
  • It has also been found in the Antarctica/subantarctic or Southern regions.
