Distribution and Habitat
- Native to central and northern California.
- Found in drier, upland portions of Gotchen Meadows, southeastern Mount Adams, Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
- Also found in Colorado and Idaho.
- Typically establishes in rocky soils with low nutrients and moisture.
Morphological Characteristics
- Stems are slender and upright.
- Leaves at the base are sessile (without a stalk) or have a short petiole (stalk).
- Basal leaves are oblong, measuring approximately 1/3 to 1 inch in length.
