The dwarf bearpoppy is found in Utah and favors specialized habitats. Displays of the related Las Vegas bearpoppy (Arctomecon californica) are common along portions of roads near Roger Spring. The Las Vegas bearpoppy's habitat is in the harshest and driest soils in the Mojave Desert.
