Distribution and Habitat

Anemone parviflora is found from Alaska south to Oregon, Idaho, and Colorado. It also occurs from Labrador. The plant is observed on tundra on east-facing slopes and can be found in subarctic portions of Ontario. It also grows in protected areas.

Morphological Characteristics

  • Small-flowered anemone grows as tall as 30 cm from short, woody stem bases or rhizomes.
  • The rhizomes are slender and are covered in dark fibres.
  • Flowering stems are 5-20 cm tall.
  • Aerial shoots range from 5-30(-35) cm.
