Distribution and Habitat

Acacia colletioides is native to Western Australia. It has also been recorded in collections such as Murray-Sunset NP SOUTH - FLORA - south of Sturt Hwy, Olary Spur (FLB03), and Flinders Lofty Block in South Australia.

Morphological Characteristics

  • Erect or spreading shrub, typically 1-4 m high.
  • Can also be a rigid, diffuse to dense shrub or tree, ranging from 0.5-3 m high.

Distinguishing Features

  • Differs from Acacia nyssophylla by having 'leaves' with 8 strongly raised paler longitudinal veins and a gland at the base of the 'leaf'.
  • Acacia nyssophylla has 'leaves' with about 20 somewhat raised longitudinal veins.

Associations

  • Found in association with Eucalyptus ravida over Acacia jennerae, Acacia prainii, Exocarpos aphyllus, Atriplex nummularia, Senna artemisioides, Myoporum platycarpum, and Dodonaea viscosa.
  • Frequently occurs in habitats with grasses and herbs including Stipa spp.
