Distribution and Habitat
- Endemic to the Mojave Desert.
- Found in sandy washes and gravelly slopes.
- Observed in Death Valley, including at 11 meters below sea level on the Death Valley Sand Dunes Desert Floor.

- Thickly-rooted.
- Broad, hairy leaves concentrated low on the plant.
- Ringstems exhibit glutinous brown bands.
