Distribution and Habitat

  • Closely resembles Canadian Serviceberry (A. canadensis) and inhabits similar boggy, swampy habitats.
  • Widely cultivated in eastern Ontario, often misidentified as A. canadensis.

  • Deciduous shrub growing up to 6 meters (19 feet) tall and 4 meters (13 feet) wide.

  • Hardy to zone (UK) 4 and is not frost tender.
