Distribution and Habitat
- This species can be found in the forests of Hanaula, specifically the upper Pohakea Gulch in west Maui, and in the montane mesic ecosystem in Manawainui Gulch on east Maui. Other locations include Pahole Gulch, Kaluaa Gulch, Pohakea Pass, Pu'u Kaua and Palawai Gulch.
- It is endemic to O'ahu, specifically La'ie to Kahalu'u on the windward side, and Kipapa Gulch on the leeward side.
