Distribution and Habitat

  • Some consider the Kashmir Cypress to be the most beautiful and graceful of all cypresses and perhaps all conifers.
  • A very old Kashmir Cypress, over 200 years old and the largest example in Europe, once stood outside a villa but was uprooted in a storm in 2006.
  • The cone pattern of the Kashmir Cypress has been associated with Paisley shawl designs.
