Distribution and Habitat
- Native to the western United States.
- Also native to Mexico.
- Specifically found in the southwestern United States.
- Observed in locations such as Maricopa County, Arizona; the Eldorado Mountains; the southern Goodnoe Hills of south-central Klickitat County, WA; and the Piute Mountains, San Bernardino County.
- Grows on sandy soils, such as along the old Vantage Highway.
Morphological Characteristics

- Erect, with some upright branches.
- Stems are generally branched throughout, with rough hairs pointing upward (strigose and rough-hairy, hairs generally ascending).
